A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

When you play this game to train your skills in guessing with precision reflecting your uncertainty in the number of balls in a box. This is a version of the familiar number of beans in a jar quiz.

A difference is that instead of a single number, you are asked to express your uncertainty using a probability interval.  The probability interval is described by a lower and upper bound and a probability for the interval, e.g. 90%.

A good guess rewarding a high score is a narrow interval with a high probability covering the true number of beans. However, better be sure - guessing with high precision and high confidence pays a price if the true number falls outside of the interval.

A game consist of five turns. The balls can be of different sizes between turns.

Learn to master this way of being uncertain through the revealed calibration curve and by maximizing your score.
